June is a symbolic month, rich in meaning and struggle. It marks Pride Month, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, and draws attention to men’s mental health. Both are often silenced by a patriarchal system that enforces shame and suppression.
Men are often taught not to show weakness or ask for help without judgment. Love between same-sex partners is still met with suspicion, mockery, or erasure. Women can’t kiss their partners in public without being sexualized; men risk safety holding their boyfriend’s hand.
Many are denied the right to be who they truly are or to express their feelings without fear.
June is not just a celebration, it’s a month of remembrance, resistance, healing, and recognition.
I offer my deepest respect to the LGBTQ+ community, those searching for their truth, and those brave enough to admit they’re struggling and seek help.
May this month bring light to those who have spent too long in darkness.
