I can’t stop listening to boleros in Spanish about a man singing about how he will loose himself entirely if he’s without his other half and how he only wishes to die faster to meet his partner on the other side. And obviously it’s beautiful in a morbid way but also sad cus all these songs are about hetero love. And while it’s still love and genuine, but it’s the only kind that’s been documented this way. I’ve spent the entire day wondering what a bolero or a bambuco would sound like for queer lovers. Would queer Latinos when these boleros came out sing these to each other in the same way... anyways
