Almost exactly 21 years ago (oof!) this was my view of Auckland harbour from my new New Zealand employer’s apartment. I stayed here for 2 weeks while finding a place to rent. Made quite a change from the home I’d just left in suburban Birmingham, UK.

Miscalculation in food purchases brought me to the neighbourhood cafe for a burger. Beer seemed necessary while I waited.

This week was time for my regular donation of blood platelets and blood plasma. I’ll get a message in a couple of days telling me which hospital received my donation.

A bit of industrial heritage today - Dunston coal staiths in Gateshead are a scheduled ancient monument & one of the largest wooden structures in Europe. They were open to the public today & free to those like me who live nearby. 50 years ago they’d have been busy with trains loading coal onto ships

This is me giving a short speech to reiterate the enduring importance of Pride. At our Pride Breakfast before joining Northern Pride’s march through Newcastle. During the march, I ended up giving a short live interview to Pride Radio. Both were well out of my comfort zone. I need to lose some weight
