Lately, I’ve been focusing on myself. It gets lonely sometimes, but I’d rather build a life I’m proud of than waste my energy chasing the wrong things. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.

The most frustrating thing about the gay community is that friendliness is often mistaken for flirting. It feels like people assume you’re interested in sex rather than just looking for genuine friendships. Moving to a new city has made this even more obvious. I’ve even had people suggest that we could “make out and still be just friends.”
