Nowadays, the concept of “relationships” has completely changed. But in my understanding, inviting a third person into your bed is already a red flag. It’s a sign that it’s time to end the relationship. What do you think?

I think every relationship is different. I think if you haven’t talked with your significant other about the potential of being in an open relationship, what that looks like and those boundaries and instead just have a threesome to spice things up, it could be a potential warning or red flag.

@cjudd Well, I guess I’m old school because, in my understanding, a relationship is about two people. If it comes to opening the relationship to invite someone else, then what’s the point of having it in the first place? Maybe that’s one of the reasons why it’s hard for me to find someone here. Especially in big cities, people seem to prefer open relationships, and hardly anyone is looking for a one-on-one relationship anymore. We just don’t live in that kind of time anymore.

@falcon that’s a fair argument for sure. There are still plenty of people out there who want monogamy. For example, that’s something I want. However, if I was with someone long enough and trusted them, I think I could be open to exploring. It’s totally possible I’d hate it but until then I guess I won’t know

@coldyb Apparently, the situation in Madrid is different. Everyone scares me when I say the word "monogamy"😄

For me it’s not a red flag because I do have other red flags like dishonesty. Never tried threesome because I personally have no interest in it. Was asked to open a relationship but he was already cheating on me and tried to hide it so the relationship was over before being opened up. Also I have witnessed some open relationships but they all ended up dramatically devastating. However they are fake relationships to me because they opened up the relationship when one of them was caught cheating. So in the end it’s always about dishonesty.

@falcon on a lighter note, can we watch sex and the city together? 🤍
