In my recent paintings I worked with a lot of precision and I needed to change the medium. I started to think about shame and being hard on yourself, self judgements. Then these forms popped up. So in short: I needed to break free from my self built patterns 🤷♂️
@lars- Yes, I understand this. There is a lot of value in ‘mixing things up’ - we can become stagnant or petrified otherwise. I like to do exercises in freedom where I use new materials or any expectation of producing a ‘work’, free of judgement like you mentioned - playing, essentially. Then I can bring what I learn from playing to further my ongoing practice.
@justben sooo true and how lovely that you found this way to progress ❤️ it’s just so essential not stay free in what you do, but also understanding your limitations and challenge them
@lars- how do you differentiate between your inner critic, which would help highlight those limitations, and just unhelpful negative self-talk? The imposter syndrome is so strong!
