Unpopular opinion: falling in love while traveling is no less real than falling in love at home. If the connection is true, it doesn’t matter where it begins-what matters is how far you’re willing to go to keep it alive. 💭 Is love about being together, or about choosing each other even when we’re apart? 🧐

I completely agree that love is about choosing each other, even across distance. At the same time, I think clear communication about expectations is so important. For example, if one person needs physical touch to feel loved, can they still feel fulfilled from afar? I guess that’s where both people really need to understand each other’s love languages and how to meet those needs in creative ways.

I think when we’re travelling we have much less inhibitions and are much more free and practically not the same person as we are at home. Travelling you is much less serious, much more carefree and has much less troubles/baggage/anxiety etc. Which makes them really easy to fall in love and fall in love with. I think it is a beautiful thing to fall in love while travelling but in my opinion it’s really really difficult to keep it going when you go back to your normal life and being your actual self with your issues and everything. So in the end it’s not actually being apart that kills the travel romance, it’s going back to reality and your actual self. The distance is a completely different variable that comes into play if the lovers can get over the fact that they’re both actually a bit different than when they met each other. Just my two cents

@nc180 Yeah, so true-it’s about figuring out what matters most to the other person. Maybe distance is just a chance to discover new ways to connect ✨

@kaanosaur Really interesting perspective. I agree reality brings the harder test, but that doesn’t make what starts while traveling less real. Maybe the question is whether both people can carry that spark into everyday life? 🧐

@thnhdlng oh yeah 100%. I think it’s very real and very strong because that is your unapologetic self with no holding back! It’s just not sustainable to be that person all your life sadly

how do you fall in love with someone while traveling? (im assuming it’s not a super long travel). thats such a short amount of time, where you don’t know each other well enough. theres so much that can be kept from each other. are you falling in ‘love’ or the idea of them? or just lusting for them?
