I joined the vigil in Hamburg after the attack in Berlin. One message stayed with me: We are here. We are queer. Get used to it. Many of us had to ask ourselves early on who we are and how we want to live. Choosing to live authentically shouldn’t be political—but it is de facto. We won’t disappear. We won’t be quieter.
