@thisisluis all I know is that traditional churches back in the lates 1750s and before brought up that idea that it’s a sin And yes I have been like this into other as long as I remember like when i was around 13 maybe but yea I never felt anything for women or anyone else like I wanna say I was designed like this but I won’t say it because I’m not sure too And yea I’m just a non denominational Christian who’s just reads the bible talk to god and everything so on

Similarly to @thisisluis answer, the modern interpretation of Christianity and Jesus is mostly a power/control system. I think there’s also some deeper psychology happening. Before even getting to queer people, the church created a ‘taboo’ around loving oneself. This lays the groundwork. There’s technically two accounts of creation in genesis, the first one in which god is what I’ll call a humanitarian and the second one in which god is an authoritarian. Centuries ago it was decided that the authoritarian version fit into the church’s views and became the cornerstone of Catholic or Protestant dogma: People are born sinners who need redemption. It would be difficult for someone who felt good to embrace such a bleak view of the human condition. Second, if one were interested in building up a strong church, one would find it an advantage to have followers in strong need of redemption. If people can be led to believe that they are sunk deep in sin and that the church is the means of redemption, a prosperous future for the church is virtually assured. I think this (“Self love/pride is sin”) combined with an ancient bias of being cautious towards anyone who looks/acts different is weaponized in today’s society. This barely covers an answer to the question as there’s also an unhealthy dose of misogyny mixed in (“How dare men, who are obviously logical, stoop to the level of emotions and sexuality of a woman” *gasps in Victorian era bigotry*)

i love this topic! take what i say with a grain of salt because even i cant fully understand it myself. so basically, the Bible doesn’t really go deep into what relationships are supposed to look like. most of the time it just says to love your partner the way God loves the church. when you look at how the Bible describes the afterlife, it literally says that in heaven we won’t have marriages or family structures it’s just us and God, and that love is what matters. so to me, that kinda shows that romantic relationships aren’t the big “end goal” anyway. They’re something we experience on earth, not something eternal. And because of that, I don’t see my sexuality as a sin. If the whole point is to love someone with everything I got whether that’s a man or a woman then im still following the heart of what the Bible teaches. its about the love you show. Side note, a lot of the anti-gay interpretations are cultural, translation issues, and passages about exploitation or power abuse, not loving, committed relationships. we’re not violating some Godly rule by loving someone genuinely. LOVE IS LOVE ❤️

@s.mue1 oh my this really did give me some relief I’m learning new things from this But yea this is what one of my opinions are like how can something God created for us basically love be a sin Like how come something so naturally coming to our heart be a sin and be controlled it’s like basically saying u must not eat and be full always like seriously I believe many of the past generations have implanted their own thoughts and beliefs into the Bible thus that’s the reason why many of the translations of the Bible is not the original Bible

God sees your heart, so be honest with yourself and with Him. He’s the only one who will judge us in the end. Focus on who you are, what you believe, and how you choose to live—not on anyone else’s opinion. And even if something were considered a sin, all sins carry the same weight. Simply by existing in this world, we’re all “imperfect” but perfect for him. What truly matters is the truth in our hearts, our intentions, and who we choose to be.

Here is something that you always can remember is that. God makes no mistakes and also God does not have a list of criteria in order to believe in him. All he ask is that you commit and believe that he is the savior and that’s all he cares about. Remember the men that died on the cross one of them was a murderer, and God did not care all God cared about was that he believed that he was the savior and he went to heaven. We’re living in a modern world. Decades ago it was a sin for women to even show their legs out of public. It’s just a society contracts believes what is allowed and what isn’t but at the end of the day you can’t live your life in a bubble.
