Coming out is a continual process. It never ends and it's part of being gay/queer. Every time you meet new friends, coworkers, straight acquaintances, neighbors, etc. at some point you may come out to them. How do you navigate that and do you have any tips for someone who is tired of coming out?

Why do you think that you need to come out to everyone then? Especially If you are tired of that. Don’t force yourself to do something that you tired of. Also, Ernest said a really good thing, live your life as everyone already knows and then you will feel easier. Also, it depends on what you consider “coming out” to be. If that is actually telling everyone that you are queer and explaining how, when, what, etc. Of course it would be overwhelming and energy taking. If it is just mentioning in the conversion some details (like your partner or something that tells others that you are queer), then it is less energy taking and is more natural.

My closet door is made out of those little string beads. 🤣 You don’t owe any person you meet anything to be truly yourself! If they have an issue with it then bye, they’re out the door. 👋 For many people it’s not as easy, you’ll learn to be comfortable with yourself and how you express yourself truly without giving an explanation to someone who may not get it.

@scorpius ahahaha that's really the perfect metaphor for the closet cause sometimes it feels like I'm back in there when I meet new people. But I also think the string beads can help me too :p

I guess it depends on the context you move and how normal it is for the people in your city. But in my experience it was by owning it and, just as I do for everyone else, not assuming anything… actually is the other way around, I assume any possibility of people being anywhere in the spectrum

The moment that felt like a milestone for me was when I was backpacking in Thailand a few years ago and met a couple strangers in a hostel, the conversation was about shit first dates and I just matter of factly spoke about a boy. I had a pit in my stomach but it felt so freeing when there was just zero reaction. And ever since then, I’ve kind of used the tea from my dating life to break the ice for myself but in a way that it doesn’t have to be a whole “coming out conversation” and doesn’t elicit a certain kind of reaction from people
