hey people 🩵 I published a new piece on something I think a lot of us quietly experience: how much of ourselves we edit in order to feel accepted. it looks at this through humanistic psychology, especially Carl Rogers’ ideas around conditions of worth, incongruence, and becoming more fully yourself. the question I kept coming back to was: how much of you do people actually know, and how much is the version you learned was easiest to accept? would really love to hear your thoughts on this one, especially whether you’ve ever felt yourself becoming a different version of who you are depending on the people around you.
