I can understand a desire in taking a great self portrait , but I also find it disheartening that artists shun sharing their creativity to confirm to a thirst trap norm in the feed. Sure nips are fun but show me what makes you you.

@kulbs thats an assumption on your part, that I would shun my creativity simply by virtue of wanting to make more engaging self-portraits! And mind you, it’s not just about being hot or whatever you call that, I want to learn how to take pictures that reflect how I see my body - vanilla mirror selfies don’t get that across. Growing one skill doesn’t have to be at the expense of another ;)

@pku good to hear, hopefully not offended, it was a wider observation on her. But what I notice from your self portraits is that you don’t look at the viewer, lots of others do the same. Does that say something? How do you see yourself ?

@kulbs that’s could be interesting to investigate further! Thank you! That’s the kind of Hits and pointers I was looking for :)

I was thinking to actually make a whole tutorial for real. Not like I really take many for myself but I did a class online during the Covid 🫰🏻

Natural lighting! Experiment with selftimer! Crop the photo and dont be afraid to adjust brightness, contrast and color temp! Have fun 🌈
