any other bi people ever go phases where they are sometimes into a specific gender and the others not really at all?? the way I gaslight myself out of being bi all the time bc of this 🤕🤕🤕 then I switch to another gender and I’m like oh wait huh

This is the exactly reason why I am very careful with putting myself in any boxes 😂

I changed my label to “queer” a while back because I just couldn’t decide between bi and pan, myself. It feels right for me. Don’t pressure yourself. Take your time figuring yourself out.💖💓💖💓

@floptor @mikayla thank u thank u, does it stress you out too though? Like the inconsistency of my sexuality bc some days I be dreaming about a boyfriend and others about a gf. Only thing that is consistent is my love for nb and trans people 😂

@ejridge Only sometimes but most of the times I’m just curious to see who I fall for next. It’s always surprising and exciting!

@floptor fair enough! I just get worried I will be in a relationship and then go through another change and it could ruin it? Idk but normally I’m attracted to a person regardless of gender anyway just one gives me more of a pull sometimes!

I like the terms “queer” and “bi+” because they feel more fluid and open, but I hear you - bisexuality is ripe with confusion, and a lot of the narratives surrounding it are designed to make us feel like we’re not “___ enough” because we’re in this beautiful middle section and open to any kind of attraction and love!! Which is so powerful ~

totally feel this. i’ve also just been having confidence issues in myself which doesn’t help

I get what you’re saying, for me what I am attracted to is shaped by my individual needs and experiences and overall environment in a specific stage of life, so there’s been times where I gravitated more towards women and others more towards men - neither cancels my sexuality out in the sense that I’m attracted to both. For me fluidity is a crucial part of being queer - it’s completely okay to move across that spectrum! 🫶

@ilariagr that’s really interesting! Maybe subconsciously I’m doing the same :) I just worry I get a long term partner and then have one of my shifts and crave the other! But I think my love and relationship should overpower that anyway but makes me insecure ig

I’ll have an entire girlfriend and doubt I like women, even though I’m clearly attracted and in love with her. Calling myself queer helps. In my experience, it’s possible to crave something different in any type of long term relationship.

@trevlom yesss it’s kind of frustrating when you don’t know but also subconsciously I think my changing preferences are kind of steeped in gender roles and what I feel I need at that time?? But also feels like gender roles shouldn’t play a part??
