what are masc spaces?

@serey i think we all have different perceptions of them but at least in my case those are spaces with mostly cis male folks like circuit parties, the gym, some barbershops.

I remember as a kid dreadingggg car meets with my older bro and his boys, bc I was sure they’d clock me as a fruit loop, even though I liked seeing sexy cars lol Eventually I realized no one actually cared how I dressed, how I spoke, or whether I exuded rainbows. They cared if I thought their car was looking slick, or whether I could guess the horsepower on their beamer lmao That’s why this reads to me less about gendered spaces and more about that familiar “I don’t quite fit here” feeling. Which happens to everyone. Sometimes it’s less about the space and more about the story we’re telling ourselves in it :)

@brionne omg that sounds so right. there’s def something coming from the early days. also a good reminder how subjective genre is. 😅
