I take it to heart. Don’t wait for a muse, or an idea, just start something - one word, one mark, one note, one gesture.
In my paintings and drawings I often use the Miro method aka randomly making a small mark on the blank page. That is the seed around which everything else can crystallise and it removes the paralysing fear of the blank page.
We are creatures of Nature and she always needs a seed to grow from… even a simple raindrop cannot exist without a grain of dust around which to coalesce yet we’ve all witnessed the power of a thunderstorm.
Make that seed.
