So true. I remember the influencer marketing campaign was insane about so many seemingly random people saying ‘how good/nostalgic’ it was. I dont even know if the average person has caught on to how much $ is spent on flooding social with positive reviews. Tbh I feel like this is every show now, a hollow shell of what tv culture used to be (in terms of actual quality, from writing to production)

@millan i just miss how creepy the show used to be. it had references but was actually moving toward a creative world and then it just became nostalgia bait

@trevlom totally agree, going from season one to whatever season its at now. What used to be about writing an actual story that becomes a script that becomes a fan fav series now feels reduced to someone following a checklist and thinking that’s all there is. “Actors talking to each other screen ✅ Song that scored well in focus groups ✅ Cliche dramatic tension ✅” And we all know the real answer why, because every media company is run entirely by finance bros who are incapable of understanding the industry they’re controlling. Each decision gets made in a spreadsheet.
