I feel bad for my mom, she struggled with her mental health and had a strenuous relationship with us. Now she’s trying her hardest to fix things in her old age. I stay distant and it breaks her heart because she doesn’t understand that it has nothing to with the past but that it would break her heart a 1000x more if I were to let her in now. She prays harder and harder to god every night to save me from the evils of this world not knowing I’ve become all the “evils” she prays to ward off.
