it CAN work, but you have to be on the same page about it. There also has to be enough 1 on 1 to feel like it’s still the priority. But there’s no right or wrong every relationship is different - i’ve had relationships where it’s worked and others where it doesn’t seem like a good idea lol 😆

Just here lurking for some answers since I’m finding myself in this position😂🤦🏾‍♂️. I might be with the “leave that man behind” crew though.

had an open relationship that lasted for 5 years. we are not together as a couple anymore, but became best friends. my advice is: both parts have to communicate, a lot. just be sincere about your feelings and also listen to him with an open heart. it will be a learning experience for you both and a very rewarding one

5 years into an open relationship, we do communicate our feelings very openly and very often. We can have fun together or separately, it’s up to you how you want to set your rules, and they can always be challenged. Sometimes you’ll go through moments in which you feel less confident, and it’s your right to be listened. The same for your partner. We also make sure to keep a sexual connection between us, and it works great in my experience.

@francesco_p that’s really useful thank you. I think making it clear we can loosen or slacken the reigns at any point is reassuring
