I’m from Romania “neighbor”, in London. Not a refugee, but just mentioning it as context; I’d be rooting the hell out for you as a fellow Eastern Europeaner!! I met a guy recently who said he fled Russia before the war into Finland via St Petersburg to then go to other places. It takes hella balls to do that, I kinda did a bit of that too but far less intense; leaving home after high school to come here for university and stay, just seeking a more lgbt friendly home. Who knows why people might flake on you, and trust me it can be hard at times; I’m in a period where I’m trying to intentionally make gay friends and it’s not going at all ahahha; but it’s their loss. I don’t want to lie to you, and the loss sounds cheesy, I have ups and downs as well at times over feeling like I don’t fit in or etc, but if somebody doesn’t show that curiosity about you as a person having to navigate that much to get where you are now; meh, next. 🤗🤗

I don’t think you need to be ashamed of being from Russia. You’re not responsible for the actions of Putler. And honestly you’re saving yourself a lot of time and headache by filtering out people who are incapable of comprehending this.
