Tell me about your coming out story, because yes. I’ll go first: My whole life, everyone thought I was straight. So when I came out to my mom, I told her I had a girlfriend. Not necessarily “mom I’m bi”, just “me and _ are girlfriends.” She thought I was lying and then she cried. I felt bad and awkward, then she told me: “I like gay people, but I never thought it would happen to my own daughter... I’m sorry I can’t look at you right now.” I cried, but it’s okay now. She loves me for who I am, she was just startled. On the other hand, my stepdad who I thought would be more weirded by it said “oh... ok. I deal with gay people all the time at work.” 😭 literally opposite reactions of what I thought would happen.
