Mutuals who’ve been to NYC, do you any tips for nice places to stay in Brooklyn - Queens? I’m heading there in October and would love to find some great Airbnbs or hotels :)

You’ll want to figure out what you want to do in NY first then pick a place to stay

Thank you! Well, I mainly wanna be between Brooklyn and Manhattan. I might go to Jersey just once to visit a friend.

In that case you’ll want to avoid Queens. I have a friend in Brooklyn and when I stayed with them, traveling to Manhattan took 45 min to an hour one way on the train and Ubers weren’t much faster.

Oh nice, and is there like a cool museum to visit in Queens? I might end up staying in Brooklyn as I originally thought.

Not that I know of but I’m sure you can find something in Queens if you really want to check the area out. There is so much to do in NY which is why I recommend figuring out what you want to do first then picking where to stay after. You can easily get overwhelmed and for somethings, you need to book in advance.

@solivarest depends where you wanna go! it’s like 20-30 mins uptown to make it past/around 42nd st. to like kings county queens it’s a little more than 30!

@solivarest i stayed here for my bday weekend and mostly stayed around lower manhattan and bk/queens and it was a good location in between

@markk love that! I’m definitely gonna check it or something else near to it, thank you so much for the advice. My plans are mostly in Manhattan - Brooklyn. Queens was an idea for just staying but a friend here also told me it was rather far away.

@solivarest good luck. the one hotel in fidi is also a good mention, i def recommend staying near lower manhattan as its more “affordable” and easy to move around imo
