Making friends after 30 feels so hard, especially in the gay community… anyone got tips?😄

Any hobbies which could be good to find people with similar interests? Maybe LGBTQ+ social groups that meet for those hobbies?

@kulbs Yeah, I totally agree. Do you know any LGBT+ social groups or networks?

@jura-s. I’m admin for one in my part of London, called queeos.east. A friend set it up, started off with drinks organised in local pubs and promoted using Eventbrite, he used Instagram to market it, we then had a whatsapp group to broadcast and network. We now have a community page and interest groups like activism, crafting, climbing, theatre, chess. I’m also in my workplace LGBTQ+ network. Think our model can be replicated elsewhere

@kulbs That sounds amazing! I actually tried to organize something similar myself, but most people lost interest once they found out it wasn’t about anything sexual. I live in a small town in Poland, and unfortunately things aren’t great here when it comes to LGBT+ activism. There are some groups in the bigger cities, but that doesn’t really work for me. So I’m looking for something online — more like pen pals or just chill friendship-based spaces.

@jura-s. It’s not easy in smaller towns, likewise, others have been curious and thought it was for group play, but I’ve made it clear it’s a social network. At least you have here for international connections. Hope you find some local connections though, sounds like you’re trying the right things.
