I came across someone sharing about his marriage. He and his husband have faced serious issues — they were close to divorce twice already, and now his husband has broken his trust again. Still, he has chosen to stay and “work it out,” much like how older generations often did. That’s his choice, and it’s valid. What struck me, though, was his comment that “young people nowadays just choose to leave as an easy way out.” There’s no need to put down a whole group of people to make one’s own choice sound more noble (especially there’s nothing to do with young people). It takes strength to stay, and it also takes strength to leave. Ending a relationship isn’t weakness — sometimes it’s an act of self-awareness and self-respect. Everyone’s needs and circumstances are different. Both paths deserve recognition without judgment.
