Week one of my sabbatical. My travel companion has strong opinions about the itinerary and refuses to contribute financially.

Went on a date yesterday. It was nice. Nothing felt wrong. But when I left, I sat by the sea alone and realized I wasn’t looking forward to seeing that person again. And that’s what confuses me. I don’t have trouble meeting people. I just don’t seem to feel what everyone else feels when they meet someone they want to keep in their life.

Today it’s 4 years since I drank alcohol for the last time. Life is so much more beautiful for it.

I'm going for it all, and if I make a mistake, let it be because I tried, not because I was afraid. This year, I don't want to deny myself anything I enjoy and that makes me happy.
