Blaktinx Dance Festival has been one of the most important showcases to have been apart of these last 10 years. Since 2016, I have presented work three times for the Phoenix festival, launching myself into a dance career I never knew was possible. A showcase that featured Black and Latinx artists allowed myself to be seen and share my stories as a proud queer Latino, taking up space with many other artists along the way.
