More connected than ever, yet more isolated than ever. We’re constantly connected, and increasingly alone. Connection has never been easier but loneliness has never been louder.

Cuz its not real connection. Its pure social overstimulation, that doesnt help us make a decision about who we wanna spend our day with

@un.nico.de.lava I get what you mean. “Connection” isn’t the same as contact. A lot of what we call connection online is stimulation and noise it keeps us engaged, but not necessarily known. Real connection usually requires time, attention, and vulnerability… things algorithms don’t reward. We confuse being updated on people with being in relationship with them. The first is information. The second is presence.

@sreyash Exactly. In chasing connection, we’ve abandoned the discipline of being content. Fellowship used to grow out of presence and sufficiency now it’s often a substitute for them. Fellowship turns into consumption people become something we search for, not something we build with. And without the intent to be content, connection becomes restless. We’re not meeting others from fullness, but from lack and that changes the quality of every bond.

The problem is kinda simple really: turns out that having the possibility to have access to exactly what we want all the time is kinda bad lol. Everything always goes back to it.

@sub yes. Yes. At least me, im trying to pay attention and know deeply the people I know online. It is not easy but sometimes it is the way I find to start relationships. But It is quite uneffective. I should engage in different situations to expect more effective results.
