So do ya’ll actually use the “friends” or “date” option when following someone? I know it’s not a contract, but of course I have to chat before I consider one of those.

I personally do- I think stating intentions and openness are fine and not a commitment. You can always change it later

Ah, I get that perspective. I do feel like a lot of people’s accounts are not exactly ripe with text, mostly just photos, so I don’t have a sense of their personality, and I really don’t know my intention yet.

@boiled that’s fair! Everyone uses the app differently but matching helps facilitate messages so real connections of any sort can at least start to be developed

True! I think I oughta try using the other options.

I lowkey decline it, only cuz it not sure if the other person would agree with it, like I feel in my head they would just scream “NO THANKS NOT INTERESTED I HATE YOU BTW”… yeah 😇

@lichaaa I mean, it only shows the person you’re interested if they also are interested, supposedly! Seems like a low risk situation.

I agree! There is nowhere near enough information in a profile for me to know if I’m interested in dating or even chatting. I tend to select both “chat” and “friends” most the time because I’m not on this app for dates (everyone is too far from me, anyway), but I’m always willing to chat and am always amenable to friendships.
