@catfish it’s interesting how we’re all living in different parts of the world and we’re all observing this exact behavior in our home countries. the self-absorption and narcissistic qualities is being enhanced due to social media. modern queer culture is still so fresh and it feels as if we’re the ones that need to establish what it means

I think you need to find spaces that are more than just “gay”. These strangers at the bar, or on apps, or at big G gay parties are going to probably talk about sex first for obvious reasons. But it’s also just easy to bring that up because that’s the only thing you know you have in common as gay men. I joined an inclusive rugby team last year, and it’s changed my view of the “community” significantly, in a positive way. This is a group that has more than the gender they prefer to sleep with, since the team’s working hard to win in a brutal sport. The choice of sport also helps filter out the people that just join to sleep with everyone, too lol But yeah, they exist out there, but they’re busy doing more interesting things than messaging hey to people all the time 🙃

Some people are really disconnected to their reality and their feelings. Their loss

@catfish I think it’s just the obsession with attractivity in general as the perfect medium for popularism as it is an intrinsic reaction. But the beauty standards are really getting out of hand

@mohoromitch hahaha I love that take! But I think these places deserve a bigger spotlight ! And I am talking about queer places in general including not just gay men!

I’ve been telling guys I’m celibate until I fall in love and the amount of men that show their true colors immediately is so sad, out here in LA is the worst
