Coming across a plethora of headless torsos/ and anonymized limbs, I can’t help but think about the commodification, thingification, and the object fetishism attributed to flesh. That this human could be anyone —and that in their decapitated state stand to signal an idealized corporeality. An anonymized corporeality that makes legible the historicity of structured classed, racialised, sexed-gendered, ableist, and ageist logics of desire.
