Dating culture has somehow made nonchalance aspirational. Don’t text too much. Don’t seem too interested. Keep your options open. Be chill. Unfortunately, I hate what-ifs more than I fear looking interested. I wrote about dating fatigue, closing doors without knowing what was behind them, and the possibilities we keep alive just because nobody has disproved them yet. Long story short: I just got gifted a freshly signed copy of Josh Silver's 'Fruit Fly' by a random woman who overheard me noticing him wrap up a sold out after hour reading Her words being: "Here... I have four- that's yours now"; smile on her face as she walked off with her equally beautiful boyfriend in hand. 🥹🥹🥹🥹
