I don’t think Billie Piper is the doctor because if you watch Ncuti’s last episode again, he pumps regeneration energy into the TARDIS, which we know from previous iterations causes damage to it. He did this to alter reality and ensure that Poppy was Belinda’s daughter. Rose looked into the heart of the TARDIS and was partially absorbed by it in the 9th Doctor’s last episode, so I think that Billie could either be a representation of the TARDIS, a kind of human/TARDIS hybrid if you will. I do hope she is the Doctor though! That would be beyond cool! As for the future of the show, we know that Disney won’t make a decision to continue on with their partnership with the BBC & Bad Wolf until The War Between the Land and the Sea has finished airing next year. The BBC has confirmed that the show will continue if Disney decides to not continue with their agreement.

@b.mitc01 Lowkey loving the detail you’ve gone into! I also don’t believe she is the official next Doctor, but more a hybrid of sorts. I.E The Badwolf Doctor. Would be good to have a feature length special or two-parter and tell an interesting story of how regeneration works on the inside or something… As for the continuation, it’s pretty much confirmed it’s coming back, it’s just the how, who and when that’s the questions haha

It was a stunt! It didn’t work! I think the future of the franchise may depend on the spin off, the War Between Land and Air. I am. It sure I see Disney as Who’s future, but I think they need some sort of partnership. The franchise is larger than the BBC alone and can’t survivor without support. I suspect we will see it rolling back to a more traditional Who in a few years once we’ve all taken a break.

@stingingsarcasm Oh 100% it was a stunt, and it makes me sad that a franchise that could be so much better than it is stoops to such a cheap trick to try and keep the fans or more likely Disney involved

@crazyig it’s too bad I actually liked the last season. I think Who is broken. The new fans are progressive the old fans are staunchly traditional, and I am not sure there’s a middle ground.

So much more was coming from the last 2 seasons, I’m sad there didn’t get opportunity to continue and grow, I think new watchers were coming and in time the traditional Whovians would have recognized how the show has changed and evolved over the years as it needs to. I’m for Rose being a new Master and flipping things around

I stopped watching after Matt Smith’s run but huge fan of the seasons I saw. Still show some of those episodes to people as standalone mini movies.
