The physical invite to our Anafi event was 🔥 Resembling an ostrakon – a fragment of pottery used in ancient Athens to vote for a citizen’s exile by inscribing their name on it – it foregrounds Anafi’s own history as a place of political exile. During periods of political repression in 20th-century Greece, the island became a place of forced isolation for political dissidents. Our ostrakon turns that history on its head: a reminder of the privilege we have as queer people today to choose Anafi as our own place of exile, not for punishment, but for rest, pleasure, hedonism and each other.
