Wrapping the first season of my very first show has been a wild experience. I am so thankful for this entire experience. I not only learned a lot, but the opportunities that this afforded me are unlike anything I could have thought for myself. To be given a first season, have it succeed, and then renewed for a second is a dream. To have this show, a very very very gay show, see such incredible numbers and build a dedicated audience has me beaming. I’m happy, but most importantly, thankful. I still can’t believe I was invited to the 50th Annual Frameline Film Festival. Sometimes ‘Like You’ feels like a vortex of ideas. Then something like this happens, and I’m reminded that someone spent real resources to bring the project to San Francisco and into the room at one of my favorite film festivals. The idea itself earned that. I’m a contender.
