Had my first chemo session yesterday. I’m feeling okay so far, but they told me the side effects can start kicking in over the next 48 hours, so I’m a little nervous about what’s coming. On Saturday I’m also shaving my head, which is something I’ve been thinking about for a while, but I have to admit I’m pretty nervous about it too. It’s kind of sad seeing how the photos in my gallery are starting to change because of all this. But I’m trying to remind myself that this is just a phase, and that when I finish treatment in December, my life will slowly start feeling like mine again. 🤞🏻

There are still things I want to tell you. Small things, mostly. A plant I finally learned the name of. Something stupid one of my cats did. A sentence I heard on the street that would have made you laugh. A tree somewhere in Berlin carrying fruit, the kind we would have stopped to inspect as if discovering it ourselves. Sometimes something happens and my first thought is still: I have to tell you this. And for one tiny second, you still exist exactly where you used to. Then I remember. There is nowhere to send it anymore.
