@cipri.m96 hey! We have high speed rail in the US! It just doesn’t go fast. 😂 😂 😂 The Acela runs from DC to Boston, but it can only go its maximum allowed speed for approximately 40 miles (64 km) of the 457-mile (735 km) route! It’s a nicer train, but i think it only takes about 30 min off the trip time from DC to NYC. It’s so sad!

@cipri.m96 If I remember correctly, it is about 150-160 mph (240–260 km/h). Wikipedia agrees. I think the trains themselves can go even faster, but the rails are not fit for it. In the US, freight and passenger trains share the same rails. Apparently. Amtrak purchased new locomotives a few years ago, but they’re not yet out of testing! 😒
