It’s lovely! Do you know how old it is? This is a complete guess, but a depiction of a master and disciple. Many of the cultures of Ancient Greece valorized this relationship and, indeed, relationships between older men and younger men (or boys) in general.

@casbahmike I’ve no idea but the botanical gardens where it is were built in the remains of an olive grove dating back thousands of years and there is evidence of old buildings everywhere. I don’t imagine this is all that old though otherwise it’d be in a museum being that well preserved!

@justben I did a little research and found out that it is a reproduction of an ancient work depiction of a physician, Hippocrates, treating a male patient. It’s terracotta covered in brass or something similar.

According to Google Image Match: This is a decorative ceramic or stone plaque depicting the Greek heroes Achilles and Patroclus, specifically showing Achilles bandaging Patroclus's arm.The plaque features a green patina finish meant to resemble aged bronze or copper, framed by a rusted iron ring.Such items are frequently marketed as handmade reproductions from Greece, often titled "Achilles and Patroclus" or similar.
