I know a lot of people gonna hate on me for what I’m about to say but I’ll say it anyway.
I’m getting very suspicious of this adhd/ocd boom.
ADHD used to be just a children’s disorder who can’t concentrate because usually kids are very curious, and pay a lot of attention to things they are interested in.
You remember a couple of years ago there was a mainstream how everyone should be productive, multitask, do hundreds of things at once, in parallel social media was developing short content and I still remember how I refused to get TikTok for quite awhile because it seemed stupid. Eventually I got it anyway and I remember how I was confused why people were talking that it’s waste of time because I was getting very interesting content at first so I felt like it was a quick way to learn something new but then slowly it turned into quick catching attention content and even when I was getting some useful information, I ended up not even processing it as I used to.
There are more things to catch on.
But I feel that ADHD has been artificially developing in people’s brains to make them less focused and worsen attention span.
And as an excuse to not work on discipline.
