Some days it feels like dating as a gay man is exhausting.
Everyone says they want something real, but too often they only want the parts that are convenient. They’ll call you “the one,” then entertain someone else. They’ll tell you they care, then disappear without a conversation. They’ll swear they’re honest while hiding the truth.
It’s hard not to question if genuine love is becoming rare when hookups are easier than commitment, and replacing someone is easier than fighting for them.
I’m not looking for perfect. I’m looking for someone whose words match their actions. Someone who doesn’t make loyalty feel old-fashioned or honesty feel optional.
Maybe I’m asking for the bare minimum.
Or maybe that’s exactly why it feels so hard to find.
Still… I’d rather wait for something real than settle for someone who only knows how to pretend.
