@itskhikhi goodness. Mixed signals are usually a sign of ‘we didn’t really match but I don’t want to feel the embarrassment of me expressing that clearly’. That means the issue is really him and his expectations and his feelings. Also as hard as it sounds, some people feel like they’re not ready for dating after they are already dating. So yeah, good thing you saved from that.

Let them go work on whatever project they’ve crafted as their identity and you go level up the quality of the person you want. Humans are generally weird, and make up stories in their heads to explain the unknown. Don’t overthink it.

Honestly me and my ex broke up not long ago and no matter how good I hit it off with someone else it just feels like the same thing is gonna happen again, which is wrong so that’s something I’d have to work on, personally I like going out and getting to know people, but if you wanna be serious, I’m gonna need some time to rope myself in. I don’t think I’m ready for that after everything I’ve been through, and you could be the sweetest guy I’ve ever met. He might really just need some time, sometimes it’s just long enough to say “okay I think I’m ready”
