Today I got the news I was hoping I wouldn’t have to hear: I’ll need chemotherapy. I’m not going to lie, this one hurts. I had been holding on to the hope that I could avoid it, so hearing that I’ll have to go through it has been difficult to process. Everything is still very recent, and right now I’m scared, sad and honestly a little overwhelmed. I know I’ll find the strength to face it, but today I’m allowing myself to feel all of this. One step at a time. 💔

I know it’s so incredibly frustrating. I also hoped i didn’t need it but i did in the end. It’s not pleasant, not going to lie to you, but it’s not impossible to handle. I believe in you. You’ll heal, and that’s what matters. Sending you the biggest hug 🫂 you’ve got this, baby.

@dia Thanks. It really sucks that we have to go through this. I hope that someday people won’t have to face this kind of thing anymore.

Just came across ur post, I work with brain tumour patients and I can see how the chemotherapy journey can be overwhelming. I wish you all the best in your treatment journey and that you find the strength and all types of support that you might need during this journey. This will go by. Ça va bien aller 💗

Sending you so much strength, admiring your courage. there’s a book that could keep you good company called you can heal your life by Louise hay. Worth having around to navigate the heaviness of what you’re experiencing. You’re a warrior 💌

@doctor-moose Thank you 🥹 I honestly don’t know how patients with the types of brain tumours you work with manage to go through something like this. Mine is breast cancer, and even though I know there are many worse situations, I’m already finding the whole journey incredibly overwhelming. I really appreciate your kind words and support.

@sailormars Thank you so much for your kind words and for the recommendation. I’ll definitely look into the book. I’m still trying to find my way through all of this, so having something that can help me navigate the harder days is really appreciated. Sending you lots of love

I know what you’re going through. I went through it last year. I remember when my doctor called me to let me know I had to go through chemo. Staying optimistic helped me a lot. It doesn’t mean you have to be positive every moment… it’s okay to have hard days, feel scared, or simply not feel like yourself. Focus on the little things that bring you comfort and joy, celebrate the small victories, and surround yourself with people who lift you up. Remember that you don’t have to have it all figured out today. Just keep taking the next step, and on the difficult days, let others carry some of the weight for you. You are stronger than you realize, and I’m sure you have many people standing beside you. ❤️

@jond- Thank you so much for sharing this with me. It really means a lot to hear from someone who has been through the same thing, especially now that I’m trying to process the news about chemotherapy. I’m slowly learning that it’s okay not to be strong or positive all the time, and that I just need to take things one step at a time. Your words are a beautiful reminder of that. I hope you’re doing well now and that this is all far behind you.

I am not a person who has gone through this, but at least I can express little support. I’ve read some of your posts and I genuinely believe that you are incredible and that you are going to handle it. Wish the best of luck and everything that can help you

@yourocean Thank you so much. Even if you haven’t been through something like this yourself, your support genuinely means a lot to me. Sometimes just knowing that people are taking the time to read, understand and send a few kind words makes the difficult days a little easier. I really appreciate it, more than you know.

I've never experienced this, but I have experienced receiving news that was devastating and I hope you take time for yourself. I wish I could come give you a hug even though I don't know you personally, we all deserve a hug at a moment like this.

@cxavier Thank you... I really appreciate you saying that. And honestly, the thought of you wanting to come and give me a hug, even though we don’t know each other personally, touched me more than you might think. I could really use one of those hugs right now. Thank you for taking a moment to give me a little bit of comfort during what has been a really difficult time. Sending you a big hug back 🫂

@alexk25 Thank you... It’s strange how much comfort can come from a few words from someone you don’t even know. I’m still trying to process everything and figure out how to face what’s ahead, so messages like yours really help me feel a little less alone in it. I truly appreciate you reaching out and sending me your support.

We’ve come a long way and research and where body deals with the cure itself. Take care of your body eat what you can get plenty of rest. Hydrate hydration is very important. Don’t forget exercise keep moving and your breathing is very important too all that we have to go through in this world my prayers go out to you.

Totally understand your feelings. I’ve been battling cancer for several years. Unfortunately, I am stage 4 and permanently on chemo and immunotherapy. It hasnt changed my life…I still go to the gym, go out for cocktails, and live a fairly normal life. If you ever want to vent, talk, or just cry with a stranger. Im here

@derekmj711 Thank you for sharing that with me. I’m really sorry you’ve had to go through all of this for so many years, especially knowing you’re dealing with stage 4 cancer. It honestly sucks that we have to go through something like this at all. Life can feel so unfair sometimes. I’m still at the beginning of my journey and some days feel overwhelming, so knowing there’s someone who understands and is willing to listen really means a lot. It’s comforting to know that, even as strangers, we can be there for each other. Thank you for offering that.

@javvier i have had my moments of anger and sadness. I chose to live for as much time as I can squeeze out. I will be cheering you on and please take me up on my offer. It gets exhausting talking with friends and familes who mean well, but always having to talk about whats going on can be tiring
