With some exceptions, I personally tend to find the ‘if only my friends were the same gender expression/sexuality then they would understand me” is a bit of a myth. Hmm if this is the biggest sticking point in your social life, speaking as a male person in western society, men are fumbling it pretty hard right now in 2026 and I tend to approach these seemingly ‘man hating’ vents not from a place of taking it personally but listening, learning, and integrating to show up better next time. I wonder if there’s any space for that in your existing circles? (I also realize it’s completely valid it might be a toxic friend group that just commiserates to stick together, but without ever having intentions to change things)
