@thatsimyoukilled gotcha! I’ve not read either of those, but they’re certainly on my list. These days I don’t have much time to read fiction, even though my dissertation was on Francophone novels from Morocco and Algeria!

You might want to check out the French-Moroccan writer Abdallah Taïa. At least three of his novels have been translated: Salvation Army, An Arab Melancholia, and A Country for Dying. A new one is coming soon: Living in Your Light.
