So I noticed I always pace around the house while I’m on the phone… and got me curious as to why people do that… A search online brought these results: 1. The "Visual Void" Compensation 2. Cognitive Boosting 3. Emotional Regulation 4. Gestural Displacement “Fun Fact: This is also why many people find it easier to brainstorm while walking. The physical act of movement literally "unlocks" creative pathways in the brain.” Makes perfect sense to me… can you think of another reason?

My pacing is definitely about cognitive boosting - I struggle to keep up a phone conversation while lying in bed for example. For some reason, I start humming, slipping into sleepiness and only respond to what the other person is saying, but I don’t contribute much valuable input myself anymore. I really need to be pacing! 🤣

In my previous career, my boss bought me a wireless headset so I could pace whilst I was on conference calls 😂

@roast.rescue.repeat my job needs me to log every single call I make, so I need to stay near my keyboard. So I got an adjustable standing desk so at least I can stand and fidget while on calls 🤣

@roast.rescue.repeat NO WAY!! What a small world 😁 I think it’s mostly the mills that make it look a bit dark and dramatic haha. I’m weirdly fond of Burnley though, which usually surprises people 🤣 I can’t get over those little workers’ terraces, they’ve got so much character, even when they look a bit weathered.
