I am frightened of going to the USA. As a queer person of colour from the UK with a valid visa waiver etc, I have to travel there occasionally. And now I am having nightmares about immigration, authorities, ice etc and feeling sick from anxiety. Am I overreacting?

@ahmd being in the country itself is fine despite guns etc, it’s the border control, ice, fake authority, people in uniforms that frightens me.

Yea, maybe overreacting 🤭. If I am honest whenever I am in the USA I just feel like free, that is just me 😅. I think you will be fine ❤️ and enjoy ☺️

It’s natural to be scared with everything going on right now but odds are you’ll be fine. I don’t think anyone would come after you if you are just visiting for work. Wishing you the best ✨

Just make sure all your documentation is in check. It’s bad out here but here but it hasn’t gotten to the point where you’re in immediate danger for just being here—if you’re not undocumented. I’m planning on moving because I personally don’t want to stick around to see how bad it’ll get, but I don’t really have the means to do that anytime soon. Try to have fun, just be weary of where you’re staying, some areas are more conservative or sketchier than others, but that’s practically anywhere in the world. Don’t let the anxiety get the best of you

As an American who recently fled my home country… no you are not overreacting 🌹

Are Americans literally fleeing their own country now? I’ve heard of a few stories but to actually hear it from a white gay man (sorry if I assume) is kinda shocking. It’s handmaids tale already. Like, at what point will those who wanted to leave not even be able to?
