We live in a world that gets excited about replacing and erasing the artist. Is it because artists were the last bastion of truth, and the system hates anything it can't twist or edit? I was watching Momas' "How to See Like a Machine" and it just pissed me off. These "curators" are so gleeful, like we're entering some new age of bliss and peace. Commodifying our identities and making the rich richer is always a better storyline for the system than the prosperity of humanity and the planet. And it didn't start with AI. It started by pricing out the artist. Pricing out shelter, tools, education. AI is just the forefront of finishing the job, eradicating independent thought entirely.

Well said. I think about this a lot too and wonder when exactly did the concept of profit become defining purpose of almost everything from creativity to governmental policy. Unless it breaks even or fundraises - it’s generally not taken seriously. I don’t know what comes next either but it’s my Roman Empire. I think about this shit ALL THE TIME.
