You start and then force yourself doing it until it becomes a habit 🥲

@olegs 100% I hated it the first few months (years) but then suddenly out of the blue one day you wake up and you crave it

by turning your brain off when it tells you not to go

what helped me on the days that I don’t feel like going, is not setting any expectations for myself and telling myself « even if I end up only spending 20 mins, 15 mins, or heck even 10 minutes exercising, it’s still better than not going » That made it easier to drag myself there

Why do you want to be obsessed with fitness?

@niko99 well, I’d love to get in shape and have a beautiful body I’d be proud of, but it takes an insane amount of dedication and consistency plus it just feels so unlike me in many ways. Maybe I just feel pressured to change myself radically to be attractive to men I find attractive

@0beron_0restes I understand this very well. Fitness is a great thing, it helps boost self-confidence and energy levels. From my experience though, being fit doesn’t make people who treat you shitty treat you better. They might want to have more sex with you, but they won’t treat you with tenderness, care or respect because you have bigger muscles. They won’t suddenly want to have relationships or commit. Do it for you, not for them. Don’t change yourself to be liked by people who objectify you and treat you terribly.

I guess my tip is to get a little obsessed with yourself, and you will find your way to fitness as a form of self-care. (This of course doesn’t apply for people who already are so full of themselves haha, but I don’t think that’s you)

Start slow. Being consistent is key. The moment you start noticing changes, you’ll get a huge boost. And push through the first week, even though it will be painful. Also, find out your motivation - Why are you doing it?

@niko99 wholeheartedly agree. Putting yourself first! Prioritise your body & mind ❤️ Show yourself the love you give to others

@0beron_0restes I’ve been there (and I’m still there to be honest) the pressure is real even if it isn’t explicitly expressed. Sometimes I think I should just re-evaluate what I find attractive to others and also be more kind to myself instead of trying to radically change myself to be more likeable, but that is not something easy to accomplish… So I guess the best I can do is try to be as fit as my life allows, so that each day I feel like I consider myself a little more attractive than I used to and although it's almost impossible (especially in apps like this one) I try to avoid comparing myself to others because that's really unfair, it's literally like comparing apples to oranges and a huge obstacle for any progress I'd like to make. It's not easy to change ourselves in any way and we shouldn't feel pressured to do it, but we also don't exist in a vacuum and the need to feel accepted is part of being a human so the key is to find a balance. If you feel you'll like yourself better if you are more fit (similarly tou how you consider your outfits or hairstyles) you will find ways to motivate yourself to work out and it can be very rewarding. But let's see it for what it is: it's not a magic solution to everything we dislike about ourselves or a guarantee that we'll be more likeable to others, it's just a hobby that changes our appearance in the long run.

I’ve seen people go downhill as they age in terms of mobility, so I’m doing it to be healthy and keep it as a good habit/routine before I hit 40. I feel a LOT better when I stick with it, looks are just a side effect.
