How do you feel about going after new things that interest you? Hobbies, self-guided study, social expansion, etc. I think sometimes we feel like we have to rely on other people and institutions to get started. I’m diving right in to try new things, and maybe you can be inspired to do the same!

I love it trying new things; it’s what makes life worth living. I recently introduced etching and printing into my art practice, and learning French. What are some of your favourite new interests?

@justben So cooool!! You go, dude!! I totally agree - it’s the most wonderful part of life; to evolve, grow, learn, adapt, express, repeat. For me, my flowers/gardening, photography with fujifilm, cyanotype printing, and always trying to evolve my songwriting. Most recently, I’m really excited by a self-guided mapped out 13 week course to learn the basics of Psychology. Hoping to cross the end of those 13 weeks with a bachelors (basics) level understanding - then to decide if, how, what, when, or where I continue that in application.

I love learning new things and growing. You only Learn by evolving. I’ve been looking into tarot spreads by more as a guidance method and I did little traveling recently with my best friend and her hubby which made me happy along the way and tried new food.

The best way is just to dive in! I try and learn a new skill or craft every so often but get bogged down with a lot of the info that will help later. As Nike so aptly said: “Just do it!”

@yni13 I love this!!!! Travel is also suchhhh a profound way of living and experiencing life. You’re discovering the world while discovering an even larger world inside of yourself :))

@adamskii Love. This. So so true - I was just talking to a friend of mine today about this… Why would I wait for perfect conditions when I can always pivot at a later time, with better informed experience and practice under my belt!?? Slay. Also I get the ~ bogged down ~ thing too. It’s always helped me to remind myself I AM the one who wants to do it. Why does it make me curious, and excited? What happens when I follow THOSE feelings - regardless of misinterpretation, and generalized external perceptions? I have recognized a pattern within myself (and most humans) to detect a threat, and immediately jump to survival and self defense - but maybe the threat was merely a passing of my own mind. It brings a sense of overwhelm and urgency which I am suspicious of. That’s almost never a threat based in any reality that I would have any substantial evidence even exists, in the current moment.

I’m doing the same too! Just trying new things, exploring my interests, and stepping out of my comfort zone.
