Struggles, for sure. It can be pretty hard to share those with someone when u don’t know what their reaction might be (like will they blame u for ur situation, offer help, etc.). I feel like with dreams, many ppl are more inclined to share those pretty openly because of all the possibilities that it may hold. That & the upbeat convo about dreams kinda just naturally brings out more positive responses from others. 🧃

@sadplantboi Yes talking about our own struggles/short comings can be scary as we wonder if the other person’s reaction will be. I think when it comes to sharing dreams we reveal our hopes, expose our sense of worth, and even the risk of failure. I guess it really comes down to the person being vulnerable.

I think my struggles… it’s been my major theme right now with social media.. caught between aesthetic and being real.. because gosh darn it I am fatigued with all the glossiness of social media… it sets up such unrealistic and isolating dynamics… but! Like who wants to put their problems out into the world?? That is my struggle.. 😅 ❤️

@juvenlee_surrealart Such a good point! I definitely understand where you’re coming from about feeling a need to have our social media curated a specific way/style. But maybe we just need to remind ourselves that it is our social media at the end of the day~. Make it as cringe or as aesthetic as you like✨. And 100% agree with who wants to put their problems out into the world🤣

dreams… i feel that struggles is easy for me because we’re all human and that’s what connects us together. however discuss dreams makes me feel like i need a lobotomy

@coachthom I really like the way you put that. I think what someone chooses to share about their dreams—or how they respond to ours—can actually give us insight into how they think. That in itself can be a way of deciding whether it’s worth continuing to build a connection with them.

Honestly, I think sharing my dreams feels more vulnerable. Struggles are about what I’ve been through, but dreams show what I really want-and if someone dismisses them, it cuts way deeper.

@thnhdlng I feel the same way. The past is behind us. But expressing our dreams reveals more about ourselves. Maybe the other person thinks your dreams are silly or doesn’t support them. Then at least you know it’s probably not worth investing anymore energy into that relationship~

the wrong people will crush your dreams. the right people will support both journeys.
