@serey Grindr (minus it being a money grabbing machine) is an incredible resource. Found partners, life long friends, accommodation, party tips, and travel guides there. It becomes what you make of it.

The League, it stops you from endless swiping and the profiles are more personality-based less focused on image. Plus it auto delete ghost chats after 2 weeks.

@isaiahgonz breeze is an app where you get just a few profiles each day. If you match, you can’t chat but you’ll have to meet, you pay a small fee and the app decides where you will meet (city and bar). First drink is on the house (well you played for it). I had two dates and I must say, I enjoyed it a lot. Not that I found my man yet but it’s more serious and not sex driven like Grindr etc.

how many of these apps are locked behind a paywall 😒 but if you’re looking to date and not do casual, I think the gotos are prob hinge or tinder. not saying that you can date and find sth meaningful on Grindr, that’s about as rare as a freaking unicorn

@g.erardo will do! I’ve been off the apps now for like a year and a half. I meet guys when I go out a lot, but I find that most of the guys I meet out are looking to “just have fun.” Some lovely situationships have come out of it, but I’m kinda ready for something more serious. I feel like apps force people to put effort into their profiles, and there’s more intentional dating happening, which is what I’m looking for.

Dating apps are all designed to keep you scrolling and perpetually searching. They don’t want you leaving the apps. This is true for both dating and cruising apps. None are intended to get you off the app. I tried a few after a failed 12 year relationship with my ex. The digital world of connection is trash. I’m taking the approach of leaving it to real life interactions. For better or worse.

Hinge is probably the best for dating. Tinder is also a popular option. Grindr is dying because it has become unusable, very expensive and a ton of bots. Scruff is better
