For the first time I felt uncomfortable for being in a space with no diversity and no one else like me. And weird stares from people. Still I’m privileged, as I wasn’t facing any real danger or hate. Absolutely no one should be felt like they’re less of a valuable person only for being different. I don’t know how this being so simple is so hard to see. 💔

I’m glad you were able to get out of the situation safely, no one deserves to end up in that kind of space to begin with. Speaking on behalf of yt ppl, the majority of our power and privileges starts from this obsessive insane need to divide up and ‘other’ anyone who doesn’t look identical to us. I used to live in a fantasy land hoping the human species could eventually become kind to each other but seeing that won’t ever be possible without ripping out the heart of white supremacy and consciously healing from it first. Take care and thanks for sharing this experience ✌️

@millan thanks to you for your perspective, I think a silver lining is that from now on I can be more aware and try to do my best!

I refuse to stay in a room where 90% of people are yt

This is another reason why traveling and going to unknown places can be very difficult

@durra It’s hard, I wish it was easier to reclaim spaces :(

@drx yes, but I believe at the same time exploring the new can help open our minds and being more inclusive
